Hi all.
I'm Ben from Appleton and I registered here to get all the help I can in building my first Teardrop. I'm getting too old and impatient for a tent and Pop-ups are just as bad. I have talked with many people who have use teardrops and love em to death, so here we go :D

I will take any advice you guys want to give out, also recipies are greatly appreciated too

I will post as soon as I get going and pics are part of the plan, thanks ahead of time for all the info I will get and hope to meet some of you in the process.

Tear

Postby BillandMarijo » Sat Sep 06, 2008 8:03 am

Ben,
Only advice I will give you is make your Teardrop at least 5' wide if you will be camping with your significant other. I am of retirement age and I have slept in a queen size bed my whole 32 years of marriage and have been quite comfortable and I want to be just as comfy in my Tear. I built her 5X10 for comfort and the need for storage. Thats my only advice. Dont get squashed in a 4' wide Tear.
Good luck and Enjoy your build.
Bill and Marijo
Hope to see you on the road.

Welcome to the forum. Sounds like you are getting some good advice. 5' is a good way to go.

Mike...

P.S. Only run if you are scared!
The quality is remembered long after the price is forgotten, so build your teardrop with the best materials...

Hi Ben, welcome to the forum. Looks like you have a good idea what you want to build, and don't let anyone talk you out of it. Being an old So Wisconsin enjoyer (back in the 40's), I know you know where all of the hot spots are at the various lakes in the region. Good luck on your build, take pics, post em, and enjoy the local gatherings. Swing on by the Camp-Inn teardrop construction facility north of you, they are a friendly group and will be happy to direct you to some of the local get-togethers of teardroppers in that area.

Tell them that you know me and they will set you up in a brand new Camp-Inn for half price..............(you're welcome, Betsie)..
;) Roly, li'l ol' woody builder in Sunny So Caif............105 degrees....whew.

Hey, now just a minute here!....I go away for a couple of days and look what Roly's up to in my absence!!!!n Giving away the merchandise, no less!

Just got back from a great gathering on the Mississippi in Illinois...4 states and 11 teardrops (3 homebuilts, 1 in-progress re-vamped homebuilt and 7 manufactured (3 different manufacturers represented). Great location, weather, food and friends...what more could you ask? :applause:

Welcome, Ben! We are having our 5th Annual Camp-Inn Camp-Outt at Juneau Castle Rock County Park in Mauston, in 19 days and would love to have you join us! Teardrop, tent, camper, motorhome, van or car...all are welcome!
