Hello from SO CA! Would Like to locate Teardrop Rental

Postby rav714 » Wed Sep 24, 2008 12:48 pm

Hi Everyone! 8) I have been reading up on Teardrops for awhile and finally decided to join your group. I live in Southern California (Corona del Mar) and I enjoy camping, mountain biking, surfing, skiing... pretty much everything outdoors.

My work takes me on the road for a week at a time up through central coastal California (Ventura to Paso Robles to Bakersfield) and also out to Utah from time to time. I hate staying in hotels and would really like to give the Teardrop a try. I have a 2008 Rav4, six cylinder, 4wd with a tow package so I know a teardrop would be perfect.

Does anyone know someone or somewhere that I could rent a teardrop (at a reasonable rate) for a week or so. I have found places in San Diego and NO CA, but no luck in the Orange County/LA Area. I was hoping someone has one sitting in their garage/yard that they wouldn't mind renting out from time to time.

I am 51, married for 27 years (stable), well insured and responsible. I promise to take good care of your baby and return he/she in as good as or better condition than when I leave.

I might eventually build/buy a teardrop at a later date, but I want to see if I would really fit the lifestyle, first. Thanks for your consideration!!

Hi Rav 714, welcome to the forum, and yes, I live in So Cal as well, but just can't muster up enough courage to rent out my precious baby at this time. Now, if I had a beater, you would be welcome to give it a try, but parting with my woody would be almost as devestating as parting with my wife.

I think you would be better off picking up a used tear and giving it a try. I can assure you, the freedom you have in a teardrop and the well equipped campgrounds that are now available, sure beats sleeping in a sleazy motel, in someone elses bed. Sorry I can't help, but there must be someone out there that can.

Call Sky or Kelly: 909-985-4200

They will rent, to own. After seeing your post I called SoCalTD for the referral. You can rent it, if you like it, they will use the rental money toward a purchase (optional). If you decide to go this route, can you give us report on how you like the operations.
