a couple of profiles for your critique

New here...Been reading the site the last few days. I really like the classic tear designs, like the cub, grumman, and cabin car, but want to get started with a more simplified design. Also trying to keep it from looking like a box going down the road. I do like the mini-hopper and the road toad in the hall of fame.

a couple of designs I have been drawing in sketchup below...As drawn they are 48" tall, 78" wide, 120" long, 10" ground clearance. Axle placement hasn't been determined yet...The frame is a popup trailer frame which is why the wheels are inboard and the width is more than usual. There will be no galley just storage in that space. Haven't designed the interior yet. Would like to insulate it too.

Planning to tow this with a full-size car that has a 1000lbs tow rating, I know it will be difficult to keep the weight down with this size.

I am leaning towards design #2. What do you guys think?

to the playground. Nice designs both. I am guessing you know the need to balance so no lecture yet. We do have other members who have towed with cars and are built on a pop up frame. You just gotta watch every pound. That includes liquids like varnish! Look forward to the final design.
