New from New York - Fingerlakes Area

Postby greg755 » Sun Dec 21, 2008 2:27 pm

My name is Greg and I just won a teardrop on ebay :applause:
My wife doesn't know about it so she is going to either really love me or Ill be living in it.....

It is a 4x8 a little smaller than I wanted, but after looking around it seemed to be a very good price ($2000) It is a home made job made out of wood, has two doors, a hatch with shelves in it and some cubby's inside the birthing compartment..

I called the guy and he said it is in perfect condition and looks almost new. He said his friend built it and took 1 trip to Alaska in it.

From looking at all the photos it looks like he is being square with me....

Anyways I will post some photos when I go pick it up this weekend...

I would like to ad 110v to this (currently only has 12v) what system/product do you recommend?

Thanks
greg

Image to the playground Greg. Living in the TD in a New York winter might be questionable. 8)

BTW we have a thing for the :pictures: :pictures: :pictures: so whether you are out or in we need some to keep the bubble oil level. 8) Tell the wife she will love the TD experience.

Enjoy

When I get it home this weekend I will try to up load some pictures, if I can figure out how...
Thanks for the replies, I feel much better about this purchase now that some experienced people have looked at it....

Greg, shame on you, paying so little for such a fine teardrop. It was built on a new frame, is made of wood strip cedar, including the tongue box. The blurb says it is shop-built, what ever that means. There sure can't be an assembly line of this kind of woodie, knocking out dozens alike.

You will surely enjoy your shiny, like new trailer. Now go back and give the guy another couple of thousand, or the guilt you will be suffering won't let you sleep at night.
   Roly
Oh yes, PS, welcome to the forum, we need more lucky buyers like you.

I saw that one on eBay. I was wondering what it was going to go for. Sounds like a good deal.

My wife was a good sport with my recent "accidental" purchase of a Pleasant Valley teardrop on eBay, so hopefully yours will too.

Greg, looks like you are trying to pull one over on your sweetie. I was confronted with the same problem, but I slipped the costs past her, probably 50 bucks at a time, as I bought materials from the big box stores. Finally after some negative comments about "You aught to see the dumb little trailer Roly is now building," that ultimately turned to "You have to come over and see the cute little trailer that he has built, I love it." So, it's only a matter of how it is presented. Good luck.
