I am up here in Washington, I call the Robe Valley area out side of Granite Falls home but I am currently in Everett.I am building a rig based of of the generic benroy plans with a few deviations.

Yeah I know pics are required, I will post when I figure out which memory card there on, and my camera is busted so I can't just jump and take some more. give me some time I WILL find theme

Some history on me, I am a volunteer fire Captain who spends free time camping, hunting, and paintballing. I used to work at a RV dealer in Everett doing installs and repairs, including hitch and wiring on customer vehicles. I am however not an expert I usually get my knowledge through doing. I do all of my own auto work when ever possible and well I cant see paying some one to do it $> .

Welcome chris - take your time and look around - see what others are doing - then settle on a design. Ask questions and someone surely will come along with an answer

Image to the playground Chris. A few deviations make it interesting! Look forward to the pictures when you get them. Now get that camera fixed cause it is real hard to take build pictures after it is finished.

Enjoy

The trailer is getting close to being finished,as if they ever truly are, I still need to seal the hatch, and finish some of the interior, and some other odds and ends but it is getting close.

I will be mostly towing with my 93 Toyota pickup, little truck, little trailer, big guy with lots of toys! we will see how it goes.

Now to work on the mods for the truck, I have the hitch installed, along with the wiring for the required lights, and 8 gauge wire (overkill) for the ground. now to mount the rest of the charging system, this will be a unique setup, but that is for another thread.

I see a huge knowledge base here, and I have had several questions answered just by searching, yeah I learn quick, some of the other forums that I subscribe to are pretty brutal on those that don't search first before asking a question.

It is a 4'X8' on a Harbour Freight frame that I allready had to haul several kayaks on, I am 6'3" so I went 6"6" for the sleaping area floor and the rest for the galley floor. I used 1/2" cdx framed with 1X2" with that whiteboard (dry erease) stuff for the interior walls with polystyreen insulation in the voids for the roof I used 1/4" birch for the roof over 1x2" spars more polystyreen in the voids and more whiteboard stuff for the interior ceiling, a small bulb provides a lot of illumination inside. I covered the whole outside with white Herculiner (2 gallons ouch..).

I stashed my battery in a tool box on the front and ran both 120 volt and 12 volt through the ceiling and walls for the necicities and toys. all of my connections are up front at the tool box as well

As for pictures, I have been tearing things apart looking for the right memory card, that darnd small SD card has decided to hide, and I didn't realise that I had so many of theme :hammerhead:

Dry erase board interior. What an Idea you could use a dry erase pen and put your camping checklist right on the wall with no fear of losing your list.

Just kidding but the light interior will make interior lighting easy and bright.

That and the "wallpaper" can change on a whim. I got the idea from some of the ambulances out there, of course they use a higher end acrylic type and I used a less expensive fiber board kind of product from Lowe's

Hey Chris welcome to the board. It's been a few years but Ilived a few miles away from the Everett Mall and even camped a Granite Falls. You actually have a few members in your neighborhood (rainjer and CheshyreKatt to name two). I am looking forward to your pics when you find the card.

For the 120 volt are you using an invertor or doing the shore power thing?

On the tear I am doing shore power, but I left enough room for a inverter or a converter near the battery in the tong box. my plan for the moment is to run an auxiliary battery in the Toyota with a decent size inverter hardwired there and run an extension cord if I need a larger power draw out in the boonies, I have also included several 12 volt outlets inside and in the galley all wired with 14 gauge wire where I can run smaller portable inverters if necessary. Also I haven't ruled out a small generator with some decent sound deadening added for non hookup sights either.
