Newbie From Minnesota

Hello,

I just joined a few days ago. I've been absorbing all of the information I can about building a teardrop trailer. I'm looking at building either a Benroy or a Ken-Skill. I'm leaning towards a Ken-Skill because I like the more aerodynamic look to it. I will probably go with a size of 5ft wide by 9 - 10ft long. I'm sure I'll have lots of questions as I continue on my journey.

Welcome aboard. I have been poking around here for a couple years, too long, too much second guessing. Just jump in and do it. Looking forward to your photo album.

Welcome Ed,
What part of Minnesota are you from? There is a big gathering coming up at the end of April in Wisconsin if you want to see some trailers.
There is also an international gathering in Minden Neraska in june. it is a great way to meet other teardroppers and see other trailers.

Hi Lori,

I'm the same Ed from the Tearjerkers forum. :D
I live in Winsted.
I'm seriously considering the get together in June at Nemadji State Forest. I'm slowly planning my teardrop build and I've settled on a trailer from Northern Tools. I drive by one of their stores every day on my way to and from work. I'm a little more exited now. I was concerned about getting laid off but we had a department wide meeting today and it sounds like engineering is safe. The owners of the company are very much committed to R&D as the best way to keep ahead of the competition so the engineering budget for this fiscal year is actually increased instead of decreased. I will probably purchase the trailer from Northern within the next month since it will be useful as a trailer for hauling until I'm ready to start the actual teardrop build. I've probably bored you by now so I'll shut up.

Hey Ed! I built my tear on a 5x8 that I picked up from Northern Tool.

Image to the playground Ed. Can't wait for the :pictures: :pictures: :pictures: Build what you like in body style. I doubt if there is a noticeable difference in aerodynamics.

It'll be a while before I start the build. Probably in the fall sometime. I'm going to start purchasing the parts once I get the design all worked out. I have a couple of large house projects in the works that have to get done first.
