Newbie from WV

Hi I'm 21, from wv, and I have pretty much wanted a TD since I graduated high school 3 years ago. To get to the point I'm looking for advice. I want small, simple, and fairly inexpensive. I could build it myself as well, but I'm not sure if I want to. I have a small dog that goes everywhere with me, and I'm single. I want to travel, but I don't want to pay for hotel fees and finding pet friendly hotels isn't as easy as one would hope. I do not have a large vehicle. I have a dodge stratus. I'm almost debating between a TD and a van, but I do like the idea of a TD better. IDK. I just need some help.

Kitt,
Check out the "weekender" plans above. That's a good place to start.

Hi Kitt,

Don't kmow where you are in WV, but I'd suggest you look up John Hodgen in Summersville. Here's a link to his 1st post. http://www.mikenchell.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=377138&highlight=#377138

Great guy who can help and advise on your build.

For some idea gathering, you might want to come here in July.

Image to the playground Kitt! Have a look in our For Sale sections and also on Craigs list........Have you looked at the Little Guy trailers? They have some pretty light weight TD's.

Hope you find what you want in time for camping.

Postby John T. Hodgen » Tue May 26, 2009 5:57 am

Hey Kitt,
I see that others have told you about my t/d build. Here are so more links to what it has become-- http://www.gearztv.com/index.php?conten ... c=12_14178 and http://s215.photobucket.com/albums/cc145/panheadjohn60/
You didn't say where in Wv that you are, close maybe.???. If you are and want to see mine up close feel free to e-mail me @ [email protected] , We'll try to get together and talk teardrops. I have about $1700.00 in mine at this point.
Good luck in whatever you decide, I pull mine with a 2005 chevy impala that has a v-6 motor. pulls fine but have to get out of overdrive on hills.
