Hello from Montana's new project

Postby Ron Brown » Tue Jun 30, 2009 7:58 pm

I'm so excited to have my first teardrop! I have my plans drawn, and I'm getting ready to start the construction. I love the woody look of the slumbercoach, and I think I can pull it off. My sweetheart is not thrilled with the added expence of building one, so I've decided to build two of them at the same time and sell the extra one in order to cover the costs.

I have seen a beautiful wooden lugage rack in several photos, does anyone know where I can find plans for one?

I'm looking forward to getting to know you. Ron

Welcome Ron!!!! I don't think you can go wrong with a woodie!!! Take lots of pics and better yet...take a lot of pics when your done and touring your fabulous state!!!

Here is a pic of the roof rack on my trailer. I stole it from Len and his Slumbercoach (crap..I stole a bunch of stuff from Len but so does everyone else!!!) There is some brief discussion on building a rack on my build site that is linked at the bottom of the page. I don't know of any measured drawings. Good luck!!!

Ah yes, Ron, wood is good. Just get started and take pics as you go along. Hmmm, build 2 and sell one. I would be interested in knowing what the outcome of that plan might be. I hope you can recoup all of your costs, but I guess you have it all figured out. Good luck on your build, lets see, glue, clamp, sand and varnish.......yea, that rings a bell.
