hello from Nebraska

hello to all
My name is Eric and I have been lurking around the site for some time now. I have read and learned a lot so far, and would like to thank all the people involved in the running of this site, and all the people that have posted valuable information in the past.
I do have to admit that teardrop campers are new to me, for that matter any camper. The family and I do a lot of camping but we stick to the old tent. I have recently got the bug and can't get rid of it. I started to draw up and plan for a soon to come build, of course after I finish with some of the wifes projects, but that all changed when I came across a little Kit kamper sitting in the weeds at a local auto body shop. I am now in possession of the little guy and am starting the rebuild. I know everyone loves photos, so I'll try to start a thread following the journey.
That's it for now, but I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions in the future.
I'm going to attempt to include a picture.

Welcome aboard Eric

Oh my, a classic Kit, Very popular early Tear, While rebuilding I would think about insulation and interior paneling, most only had the aluminum walls and ceiling, ya didn't need a thermometer to know how warm or cold it was outside

Yeah watch them sand worms, that Kit wouldn't even make

I'm obviously a big fan of Frank Herbert
As for the Kit, I hope to keep fairly true to the original design and style, but I think some insulation would be a good addition.

Oh good, we get to watch another re-birth of an old standard teardrop. What a find, be sure to take pics as you go along, you'll never have another chance. Good luck on your efforts.

Looks like someone only discovered it after spraying Roundup in that yard.
Congratulations on the find and good luck on the rebuild. I look forward to seeing the old tear get back to road worthy.
