Newby from Michigan

Postby yakcamper » Wed Sep 09, 2009 10:08 am

Hello All
My name is Lynn, and I am new to this forum. I found this by Googling "Teardrop Trailers" First went to Mike's website and that led me here.
I plan to build Mike's Weekender trailer, as it appears to be an easier design for a first time TT builder, and because I want to have it done and ready for use by Spring of 2010. I haven't done any woodworking for about 10 years, but have a lot of equipment buried in the basement. We moved and everything was just dumped in the basement (it a long ugly story).
javascript:emoticon(':D')I like to go kayaking with the club I belong to, but most of their trips involve primitive camping, and I'm just to old to start setting up and taking down tents or sleeping on the ground. So I started looking for small tent trailers, and somewhere along the way I found a teardrop site. So there it goes. :D

I have hubby looking into having a trailer frame built for a 5x8, so the process has begun at my turtle pace.

Welcome Neighbor. Enjoy the build
I need a new Avatar. I'd put my dog up there but she doesn't look much like me. She's the skinny one.

Thanks for the Welcome

Postby yakcamper » Mon Sep 14, 2009 8:32 pm

Hello all,

Thank you for your warm welcome. So far I've got the garage cleaned out, well at least the one half anyway. Building a work table that I can take down, and store. Used some 2x8' plywood sheets I found in the garage to make a 4x8 worktable/bench. Felt good to work with tools again.
Been hunting for my tools, found a trim saw, clamps, and a stash of wood in the garage. I knew there was some wood there, just didn't know what. Had it covered with a tarp. Still have to find my router, jigsaw, straight edge, and 4' level.

Thanks again,
Lynn

You really need to check out Joanne's Desert Dawg. Very informative site and her weekender turned out great.
