Just brought it home

Postby jbdaniels » Sun Oct 18, 2009 9:29 pm

My wife Lisa and I just returned from picking up our new teardrop. We got a 2009 5x8 Silver Shadow. Picked it up in St. George, Utah and brought it back to Salt Lake camping two nights along the way.

Anyway I've really used this forum alot over the last few months and I hope I can contribute some value in the future.

Joe

Congratulations Joe and Lisa on your new teardrop. It looks great. The old style guards and rims set it off nicely. Now the fun begins
Enjoy

Congrats and enjoy!! Went thru Red Canyon in July; scenery in E. Utah is just amazing. It was my 3rd trip there since 2005 (I'm a rockhound/fossil hunter) Might see ya out there in the future

Very nice Lisa & Joe, if I may pry, what are the dimensions of your tear? Like height, width, how deep is your counter top in the galley? I'm getting ready to build my own and these are just some of the questions I have when I see other tears and want to compare with what I have designed. Thanks and hope you 2 have a ball! :applause:

I am also a rockhound! I have a website about Utah Rockhounding you can check out at: http://www.xmission.com/~jbdaniel/

Varekai:

I can get some quick measurements for you tomorrow. I gotta run to a concert tonight (Bob Dylan!). It is 5x8 but height and galley specs I will ahve to grab for you tomorrow.

I love Utah. It's so beautiful there...Arches National Park and Dinosaur National Monument and many more. We are hoping to get back again next summer.

Utah Rockhounding . .Then I have to thank you as I've been using site info off that since 2005.

Awesome! glad you find it useful.

Varekai, I just went out and took some of the dimensions.

Cabin height: 4ft
Galley depth 18 inches at the floor, the counter is also 18 inches and offset from the floor by about 9 inches.

Here is my first mod! I added a tongue box today:

Just one thing- that garage is way too neat for a teardropper. Stuff should be hanging off the shelves, stuff should be on the floor on the floor. How do you find anything? I own the first year silver shadow/yoder toder. Welcome to the community.

Welcome to the world of teardrops, Joe and Lisa! There are a number of us in the Salt Lake area. Have fun with your new purchase, and maybe we'll see you on the trail someday!
