Great forum.

I want to build a tear drop and tow it behind my Jetta Tdi from GA to Alaska and back.

I have a few ideas, and a old 5X8 trailer.

Being a a fan of the old Aircooled VW, I thought of these windows would look great on a tear drop, you could match the curve to the window frame, and the windows pop out to let air end. You can pick the them up at swap meets for about 100 a pair in fair shape, I think there are some repops out there for about $400.00

What do you guys think?? :)

Howdy, from North Georgia (Fannin County).

Hope you can make your trip with a self built TD. Wife would like to make the same trip. She hasn't sold me on it yet!

Welcome!

Edited: I think someone on the forum has built at TD with VW windows. Maybe thy will chime in.
If it's not broken, you're not trying hard enough.

Welcome to T&TTT, vwbeamer .

Sounds like that would be a trip of a lifetime. Would love to make it some time.

As Geron stated, the VW side windows have been used before. Check out the build by CJflyer.

Here's a pic of the complete package. And they do sleep in it. It's not just for show. ;)
