Newbie from Carolina

Been looking through the site for the past couple months. Thought is was time. Camping has been a great enjoyment for me. The tent was not. Decided to try making a teardrop myself. I have come a long way with ideas from pictures that have been posted. I have been working on mine since December of 08 and have had alot of fun. Primary reason for building my own. Cause i can! I know everything that i am trying to do has been done. Just started with a couple sketches on paper and started building. Now im trying to finish the finer details. Sealing doors, putting in windows and trying to figure out a different way to cover the whole thing. I have time. no need to rush! Just adding a little. My camper is 5' x 9' about 4 1/2 ' tall. Almost a triple floor, two layers of 11/16 plywood on the bottom with a hardwood floor. Sides and top are double 1/4 inch plywood. Fully insulated with 1" of foam insulation. Maybe a little overboard! But i do plan on some very cold camping. I built the frame myself. i have a little welding experience. This is the second frame that i have built. The first is about 4 years old with no sign of wear. So i guess my welding skills are fairly good. i may be overbuilding the entire thing, Even the slung axle has a 3000 lb capacity! Without any cabinets or supplies i have an estimated tongue weight of 224 lbs. (used bathroom scale) When i am finished i will take it to a commercial scale and weight it. As for windows. i might use some plexiglass for now just to get it out.
