Hello from Indianapolis

Postby Newman39Fan » Tue Jan 26, 2010 7:44 pm

Hello all. I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Arne, and I was actually excited to see another member here named Arne. Not only is the name rare, but we both spell it the same way which is even rarer! Anyway I have spent hours and hours reading posts here and am getting real close to asking tons of questions!
I already have a 30’ fifth wheel on a lake around here; I just don’t have a truck, or the money for a truck that can pull it. So I am going to build my wife and myself a teardrop for one reason – NASCAR. We love going to races, and we prefer to camp at the tracks instead of a hotel. So my goal is to build something that will make her more comfortable then a tent, and also be really cool at the same time.
Well I look forward to talking with you all and getting lots of ideas and answers for my specific teardrop plan.

Hi, Arne. Great idea to take the TD to the races. We attend the NHIS cup race every September, and are looking forward to this year, when we'll have our TD to camp in the night before instead of getting up at Dawn's crack to fight for a parking spot the morning of.

Get your build on...season's almost here! :SG

Thanks for the welcomes.

Mike - That thing is way to much for what I am looking for, but it is cool.

Prohandyman - I will be in touch, and will see you at the show next month

Dragonryder - I live near Indy, but grew up in New Jersey, so I was actually rooting for the Jets, but oh well

OOPS!!!

Postby Dragonryder » Thu Jan 28, 2010 7:56 am

Well, even at that, you should feel proud. The Jets, with a rookie QB and a rookie coach made it to the AFC championship game. What a season. I think the Jets fans have a lot to look forward to next season.

I was rooting for Minnesota. I have always liked Brett Favre and always will. I guess for now, I just root for the old guy since I'm one myself. It's funny, I'm older than him but everyone keeps calling him old. That must mean that I'm over the hill old!!!

Good luck with your build.

Arne, welcome to the forum.

As you might know, we have a gathering coming up in May (Spring Mill State Park).
We would love it if you could plan to attend. There is plenty of room at the park and I know you'll enjoy it.

You can follow the threads relating to the gathering at this link.

Please try to join us in May.

The Colt's kicker just turned 42 (Matt Stover). Now that's "old". He's not getting slapped around like a quarter back but he's still old for an NFL player.

Go "old Guys"

A quarter back at 39-40 is "really old". Warner (and Farve) both took a beating (physically) during the season. Maybe it's time to retire again.

Or Maybe...

Postby Dragonryder » Fri Jan 29, 2010 7:16 am

I would just put in my contract that the teams had to sure up the o-line. Really, when you look at both teams, they really don't need much else to push them over the top.

To be the old guys in the NFL, barring maybe Payton Manning, I think they are the most exciting players in the NFL. :applause:

I still think that old guys rule!!!

I really like the Colts but the Saints seem to be the sentimental favorites. Should be a great game.

Sorry, didn't mean to hijack this. ;)

This Hoosier group is a lot of fun and real active, with 4 "official" gatherings a season. Throw in a parade or 2 and a couple unofficial outings and you have a tight knit group. There are several talented builders in the group as well ( don't count me in there , I just cobble)

So from one Hoosier to another welcome to the insanity !
