Howdy Ya'll,

Just checking in as a new member. Always wanted to build a teardrop but the wife likes tent camping so maybe I can live and camp through ya'll.

BTW we use a GP Small tent. You could probably park 2 teardrops inside it. What can I say? She likes room to spread out.

Welcome to the forum. We still set up a tent. My wife likes to sleep in there & spread out her things. Me and our youngest son sleep in the TD. Seems to work out well for us. A bunch of us will be at Beavers Bend SP in Oklahoma in a couple of weeks. Then in Sept. a bunch more will be at Loyd Park on Joe Pool Lake. Come on & join us.

Thanks for the warm welcome.

We do use a trailer to haul the tent. It's 126 lbs of canvas + 46 lbs of posts + pegs, sledge hammer, extra ropes, etc.

Then there's the wood burning stove. No joke. We've had a Boy Scout Troop march by in early Feburary and comment "We've never seen a tent with a chimney!" It was below 40 outside and above 70 inside.

We can have camp set up and the kids asleep in less than 1 hour from parking the car so I'm not complaining.

The first time we set it up it took about an hour and a half with just the two of us (kids were too young to help) and an Army buddy camping nearby commented that he'd never seen any one set one up that fast and would have bet it could not be done by just two people since the army manual requires 4 and about and hour if they're experienced.

I told him I was a Marine and no one had told me it couldn't be done.
