Hi from Calgary! Building Car Hauler Camper Conversion

Postby The_Andersons » Mon Apr 26, 2010 10:16 pm

Hi everyone! Newbies here.

Well, we took the plunge and decided to buy a 5th wheel cargo trailer that we will be camperizing the front and converting the back to haul the show or race car.

We hope we can pick some brains here since we have never attempted such a big project before.

The car will take up roughly 16 ft of the floor space, which leaves only 4 ft to fit a bathroom, cupboards and sink into. We're looking into getting one of those shower/toilet combo pans with shower stall surround. The sink/counter will be outside of the privacy room with cupboards creating a wall between the floor space and the bunk portion of the 5ther. Bunk area is nice a large, 8x8 ft, so plenty of room for bed, cupboards and perhaps the clean water tank.

Anyhow, once we get more parts brought in, we will be hunting this forum for tips and tricks... so thanks everyone for posting their previous and present builds and suggestions!

Wow! :o That is ambitious! I've got butterflies starting our first and it's just a little 4 x 8 td. I should add that Dennis doesn't have any qualms. He's like a kid that just got his Christmas wish!

Anyway, from one noob to another, Welcome! Will certainly be watching for updates on your build. Darlene
