Hello all!
I've been stalkin.. er reading this fabbo website for weeks! What a wonderful source of information you all have accumulated!!!! I am so impressed with the skill and designs of the DIY folks. Your insight and pictures made me realize I didn't want to build my own just yet and I was lucky to get a deal on a 2009 RT Little Guy. This is my first weekend taking it out.
I'm an old popup owner from way back. I had a '90 Coleman Williamsburg (bought used in 93) and had it until last year. BTW, the popup was full loaded with potty, shower cassette, hot water heater, AC, furnance, 3 burner stove, awning... the works. Never failed, one of those "works" would break on an outing. The last straw was the AC leak that ruined the roof. Very stressful.
I wanted something simple that wouldn't hurt my back setting up and didn't have the high maintenance of the popup (clean canvas, air out, chase out ants in the seals, rinse, repeat for every use). I wanted something without water lines, without gas lines, good ventilation, no canvas, no stabilizers and easy to pull. I saw a clip about teardrops on the travel channel and have been obsessing ever since!!
About me: I'm >40 yr old female with 2 goofy golden retrievers and a very old psychotic tortishell cat (Ratkity.. she owns everything, just lets me use it). I love bicycle riding and my yearly highlight is camping at an annual bike ride in VA. My only wish is to keep up with my 77 yr old mother (yes, she can out-ride me).
Thanks for letting me ramble and introduce myself.
Hugs,
Ratkity
