Hello from TN

This is actually my second post and I wanted to introduce myself. Yes I am probably crazy and you will see that with my current build.

I have been reading this forum for about 6 months as I worked on this build. I started with a 1986 minivan and cut off the cab. I added on to have a full length bed and a bunk inside. A galley kitchen is under the hatch in back. The inside is done and waiting paint and flooring while I mess with the many issues of body work. I hopefully will be camping soon. With inside cabinets and wiring, outlets charger, and so on the weight is just under 1000lbs. The design fits snugly behind my vehicle to reduce drag. The galley also has the bulk of the weight which allows me to have a very low tongue weight. I have not checked it yet, but I can still pick the trailer up in the front and easily push it around to work on it. I promise more pics in the future. I will put them in my album.

That is a great idea. The hatch should not leak.

HI!

Well, like the rest of the posters, WHAT A GREAT IDEA! Obviously you have the talent and abilities to do this conversion. Would you mind telling us what your first build was? Any pictures?

Keep up the good work.

That was genius. I'm banging my head on the table going, "Why didn't I think of that??" :?

Next time, I'm going to find a Dodge Grand Caravan with a blown engine for dirt cheap and do exactly what you did. Too cool buddy.

I know I know I still didnt post any more pictures. I have been busy working hard to finish. I sprayed the outside and I am finishing all of the details now. The inside is now being painted and the floor ready to go down. I also just welded on some expanded metal to the front for battery storage. I also have mostly completed the galley. I also put in a bed that converts to a table which provides an option for rainy days which seem to follow me when I camp.

This was my first build, but I tinker with everything. I was looking for a small self contained option that was also cheap. This worked as the shell was complete and cheap. I also liked the fact that it now looks like a small camper not a vehicle modified to be a camper.
