Greetings from another newbie!

Hello all,

I've been poking around on this forum, lurking and reading many of your posts, so I thought I should be polite and introduce myself. :)

I'm a photographer planning a big round-trip, cross-country road trip this year, and I decided the way to do this trip was to take my lodging with me! I drive a 2008 Toyota Prius, so options for towing are very limited, but I've done a lot of research and purchased a barely-used Little Guy Rascal. It's little more than a tent on wheels, but that's all I need! I figure if a motorcycle can pull this, my car can too.

I've been enjoying your posts and learning a lot here, so I wanted to say thanks. This is a terrific resource and community and I look forward to participating more actively!

If you're interested in seeing what I do, check out www.janetlittle.com.

Howdy and welcome. Teardrops are a blast. If you get out to southern Utah and would like to share a campsite, let me know. Check out my web site below. I too was a commercial photographer/designer in Orange County CA. 30 + years. I recently started my so. Utah web site.

I love you images.

Cheers,

Thanks! Southern Utah is one of my favorite places on the planet, so far (I still have a lot of it to see!). I've spent some time in Zion (including a backpacking trip), Bryce, Grand Staircase Escalante, Capitol Reef, Grand Canyon, and Arches. Haven't made it to Canyonlands yet. That might be a stop on this trip.

I like your site -- I have to wait til I'm on my computer and not my iPad to view the videos! I'm now anxious to check out that ghost town in Nevada -- I love places like that!

Thanks for the welcome.

Good luck with the prius, but I'm not sure anyone will put a tow package on it (maybe you already have). we have a prius too, and were told it would void our warranty. But ours is a 2005 so maybe things have changed? We went to Zion and Bryce over Easter with our tear (pics here http://www.tnttt.com/viewtopic.php?t=36663&highlight=) as well as Great Basin National Park and Cathedral Gorge State Park in NV (both highly recommended! and we live in Northern Nevada. When you are ready to come this way, let us know, we can give you some hints, we been over most of the back roads in Nevada!

Hi Janet,

Your photos are wonderful.

Don't know if you know, but the Chesapeake Bay Tearjerkers chapter is gearing up.

Get over to http://tearjerkers.net/forums/ and get registered.

That said, we are not far away in VA either. We'd like to see you out at a gathering!

about the hitch... call auto truck outfitters on rt40 in white marsh, they got me the hitch for my Fit super cheap and the direct fit wiring harness too. it was plug and go,no splicing wires for the 4 pin wiring on the trailer

Love your photos!!~!

I finally went kicking and screaming into the digital camera world not too long ago. I currently have a canon T1i and love it, especially since my old expensive lens from my elan IIe fit. I love macro photography and pictures of insects and wee flowers. It's just a hobby, not a profession.

I have signed up for the chesapeake TDs recently and hope you do as well! I have a little guy RT. I'm not gifted enough to build a TD.

Hope to see you posting more TD rascal photos of you and your cross country trips.

Hugs,
Ratkity

Thanks, everybody!

I'll check out the Chesapeake Tearjerkers. Going to go pick up my new travel companion tomorrow -- I'm so excited!

Thanks for the tip about the outfitters on Rt 40. I also heard that Annapolis RV is a good place to go (we live in Anne Arundel Co).

I'm working on my travel map -- it's crazy. There are so many places I want to see! If I'm not careful, I'll be gone for six months instead of two. ;-)

Thanks for the welcome!

Thought I'd add some pics so you can get a little intro to what I'm doing. :)

http://www.mikenchell.com/forums/album_personal.php?user_id=11159

I'm thinking of customizing the back of the trailer with my blog website so people can check out my trip progress. Today I think I'll contact a local vehicle wrap/graphics company to find out the cost involved.

I've come to affectionately refer to my upcoming trip as the Twenty-Ten Tiny Teardrop Trailer Tour. ;)
