Hello to all from IL

Postby LoriCz » Sun Jul 18, 2010 9:52 am

After months of looking, deciding what I need, want, can afford, can pull, etc. I have finally bought my teardrop. A 2009 Little Guy/Silver Shadow Highline model that I took for a maiden voyage doing the Lake Michigan Circle Tour over 4th of July weekend.

I love reading all your posts and many of you have unwittingly helped me to make a decision.

Right now, it's just me and occasionally my small "Toto" like dog named Pepper touring the Midwest until I can find longer blocks of time. Looking forward to semi-retirement when the kids hit college in a few years to do some real traveling.

Happy travels! Lori

Hi Lori,
Welcome to the group, :? I am sure you will enjoy your new camper, and have many memories in the years to come. You will meet many new friends along the way, no matter where you go.
Check out some of the scheduled gatherings listed in the Midwest thread, look at Indiana and Wisconson events too. Join Tearjerkers too, (look above in the index) there are gatherings listed there too. Happy to have more Illinois folks join in. Check out Camp-Inn Camp-Out coming up in September in Wisc., Great Folks Great Fun. Hope to see you there. There is also another gathering in Sept. Tears By The River 3, on the Miss. River, just over the Wisc. border. Much Fun.
Hope to meet you soon, Doug & Nan :D 8)

Welcome! The Lake Michigan circle tour sounds challenging (what with Chicago and Milwaukee to get through, not to mention Gary, In.), but I'll bet it was fun! We did the Lake Superior circle tour a few years back and enjoyed it. That was before our teadrop days. It would be even more fun now! There is something to be said for circling something. I wonder why??

Just thought I'd add (since you're planning on coming to the gathering at Whitewater State Park in Indiana) the link to where the Hoosier chapter is planning it

Looks like there will be lots of us there. My husband Mark and I will be there Thursday and Friday nights and I want to invite you to our site (127) Friday night for wine and cheese. Looks like they've scheduled that for 5 p.m. Hope you get to come![/url]

Hey girl!
I'm from IL too -- Aurora, west of Chicago. Are you any where near there?
I'm heading for the Whitewater trip in Indiana (east of Indianapolis), though I'm not sure if I'll arrive on Friday or only on Saturday. It would be neat to meet you there!

I'd like to go to Whitewater, but trying to figure out the logistics with kids and time. Not sure that I can, but I do intend to hit a couple gatherings before the year is out!
