Hello from Texas

Postby honeask » Fri Dec 10, 2010 1:29 pm

I am a newbie to posting but have been viewing a little longer. I LOVE the teardrops and other little travel trailers, they just make so much sense. We do not own a trailer but I am trying to edge him that way....slowly. There does not seem to be much to choose from in our area, near the Gulf Coast and I have talked to a man just outside of Fort Worth that make some, one or two at a time. Has a 3 month built out I believe. I like some of the trailers and some look to be a lesser quality. I would like a good one or a privately built one when the time comes. I love the fact that they can be pulled with a smaller vehicle since we downsized from a Diesel F250 to a crossover vehicle. Love the car but was thinking I would never have a TT til now. Hopefully I will be posting soon as an owner instead of a voyeur.

Hi Sandy,
It's not voyeurism....it's research! And I've been researching for over a year. :D

Welcome to the forum! All the best with finding your teardrop trailer.

Welcome. We have a gathering at Crystal Beach in May. You are just around the corner, so come one down! If you don't have a TD yet, then pitch a tent.

Hi Sandy, I was just talking to my father today and one of his customers built a teardrop and is now looking to sell it for $2500. I told him I would get back to him for more details and get him to join this forum and post it up. (Check out the for sale section at the bottom of the sections. I'll let you know if I have any luck getting the info and if it is decent.

Keep your eyes open on eBay and Craigslist too, you might be able to snake him in on a sale.

Might want to think about the Crystal Beach deal, it would be a good way to see some choices and get inspired too.

I would like to know about the Crystal Beach event in May. It could be a nice short day trip for sure.

Welcome Sandy,

Good to have you on board. Speaking from experience - I am into year #3 on my build - tent campers are welcome at outings too!

Has it really been three years? It doesn't seem that long. I guess just over a year and a half on my build and I have been camping now for just over a year, so I guess that is about right, time flies! When you are campable, you will be much more done than I was when I started camping though!
