Newbie from Minn

Hello everyone, I've been doin the lurking thing for a while and figured I'd register. I am not new to camping, I own a pop-up Coachman and have tent camped befor. Kids are getting older, 15 son and 18 yo daughter. I don't expect my daughter will be camping with us much longer due to college, though she has enjoyed camping. My son is OK with it, but we know how teenagers are. So that leaves the wife, not much camping experience, but willing to do some more! So, a Teardrop does fit the bill. I like to tinker and build stuff, so a TD is on the list! I've been reading alot of the forum and have decided on a 5x10, and th rest is open somewhat. I hope to keep[ the weight down as my 05 F150 is the current tow-er, but with gas $, something has to change! We can all relate. So, I hope you don't mind that I keep lurking("stalking" as my daughter calls it!) and join the bandwagon so to say!!

Welcome! Have you decided on a profile yet?? Make sure when you start building to post lots of pictures. Just start a thread in the 'Build Journal' section and keep it up to date with pics!!

Hello, I also just registered here (few weeks ago), also from MN. What are some of your favorite campgrounds around here?

Bobby, There are a lot of nice campgrounds. It all depends on where you want to camp. In fact there are a bunch of nice campgrounds within an hour of the cities. Not too far from Savage.

Welcome Fellow Minnesotan. Not too far from you, in fact we have participated in the Jesse James Car show a few times. Even took the Tear there a few years ago. Lot's of teardroppers in Minnesota, so be sure and attend one of the campouts to get lots of ideas.

Once you go to a Teardrop, there is no going back, Enjoy.

I see there must be a few fellow Minnesotans here. We haven't done alot of camping, had the pop-up for 2 years now and its been out 4 times. Not very good use of it, but thats why I bought it used. We've been to Sibley State Park, itis very nice. Have a friend in that area to visit. Been to Nerstrand State Park a few times, its close for those last minute get aways. Can't remember the other county(?) park we went to. Didn't care for that one, so it didn't stick with me. Any how, I'm thinking of a 5x10 Tear, I want it to be small enough to pull with a car or smaller SUV. The Jesse James Car show I do go to it, I usually end up working that weekend. Usually bicycle it around town on staurdays if I can. I'll keep an eye out for the Tears. The build may start after the daughters grad party, don't know how far I'll get this year, funds maybe low for a while. In the mean time I'm checking out the forums for ides, had one spotted, forgot now, so start over looking again. I hear teenage kids have that affect on thier parents!
