Back with a plan

Postby AlStAubin » Sun May 15, 2011 3:11 pm

I have been off for a while due to my trailer plans on a financial hold. I am back now with a slight plan but a plan all the same. I will thank everyone ahead of time as I pick the brains of those on this site with much more wisdom and knowledge on the subject.

Looking forward to seeing your build. Don't forget the pictures!!
There's a New England Tearjerkers gathering that will be happening in Sept. up in Milton N.H. the weekend of the 9th at Mi-te-jo campground. You should come camping with us. Bring a tent if your trailer isn't finished yet. We don't care what you camp in. It's a great campground and a really nice gathering. Very low key and alot of nice folks.

Hopefully we'll get a chance to meet around a campfire somewhere soon! Good luck with your build.

That gives me a date to shoot for. I was looking at labor day but I am also being realistic about my financial aspects. Thanks for the invite. I am looking for someone close to me with a home built teardrop that I can show my wife cause she is still skeptical due to the space available inside. HELP!!

Mine wasn't skeptical she simply thought I had lost my mind when I started the build ( but she hasn't missed a gathering in 3 seasons).
Growing older but not up !

NH Teardrop (What's your name BTW?)

There are other gatherings scheduled around the northeast that you can check out as well. If you haven't done so yet, you should head over to the TearJerkers site (link is above in the menu) and register there. Once you're on that site you can check out dates for other gatherings around New England, New York, PA, New Jersey etc. Just click on the area chapter that you're interested in. Anyone is welcome to go to any gathering. You don't have to be a member of a specific chapter. I know that the New England chapter has a few members in N.H. but I'm not sure how close they would be to where you are.

If you really want to see alot of trailers at one gathering, see if you can get some time and come up to the Adirondaks the weekend of June 9-12 (or at least part of that weekend). There will be alot of teardrops at this gathering. Again, you don't need to have a trailer. I camped in a tent the first year I was at this gathering. This is not a TearJerker's gathering but there will be alot of members there. Here's a link to the thread on this forum for this gathering. http://www.tnttt.com/viewtopic.php?t=39879&highlight=

Seeing these things up close really makes a big difference in your perception of the space inside. If you get to a gathering go right up and ask some of the tear owners for a tour. Alot of folks will let you climb in to get an idea of what it feels like inside also. Seeing a few in person will probably help your wife get a better feel for the space.
