New guy here! I have had travel trailers, and did my share of sleeping on the ground as a young man, but now that I am wiser - I think - and know what I like and dislike, it is time for me to build my dream TD.

My avatar shows the wooden boat that I built five years ago using the "stitch and glue" method. It is a 14 foot wherry, and weights just 98 pounds. It is a stronger boat than I imagined. I will use that technology when building the TD. The reason is that I want that "woody" look of mahogany and ash, and it is lightweight. The design will follow the Cabin Car style of 1947. As I go along, I will photograph and start my construction pages to keep those interested in how I am progressing.

I want to thank all of you who have contributed so much technical detail that has encouraged me to start this project. What a resource!

All right...another cabin car! Welcome!

This pic is from last weekend...camped alongside my brother and his cabin car. Looking forward to your build.
