Tire size. That's where it begins. I have to do that first so that I can order the right axle because I want at 60 inch interior. This is going to be a big project!
I think that I have the right axle picked out; it is the torsion axle from Northern Tool rated for a 2000 lb. GVW. The TD will be 10' long. How am I doing so far? If I am going wrong, let me know.

Welcome Jerry, other than the axle from Northern, I'd say you are doing fine...I would look for one from Flexiride or Dexter rather than the (un)Reliable Axles...would also consider a 60" exterior to make better use of available materials...but you are right about tires...they, along with what wheels(more important) you are planning on using will dictate final axle dimensions.................
