New to T&TTT

Good morning all, This is chefmary and I am in Phoenix Arizona. My husband and I have been tent camping for close to 30 years and well age is catching up to us and we have decided to convert our cargo trailer into a camper. We have some ideas on what we want but any help will be appricated. We have 3 children so we need to have to room for all of us. The trailer we have is a 6x12 interstate. We really don't need a shower area in the camper because we can set up a tent area outside for that. We use a very large cooler as a bath tub for the kids. Works great. My one big question would be how to extend the bed out the back side of the trailer and cover it so that it lookes like a pop out on like a pop up camper? Also how to attach and aweing to the side?

Welcome from another neighbor.

Deciding what to include and what to exclude is part of the fun of designing a trailer to fit your personal needs and desires. Enjoy the process. Take a good look at the build threads to see how others have resolved these tradeoffs. As you probably already know, this forum is has a wealth of information and opinion that can help you a great deal.

Chefmary here again. Have been looking over the site and have found a lot of ideas that will work for your conversion. We have taken some measurments and have drawn up a floor plan. Know the work begins. We are going to put a kitchen area in the back. Have a single bunk in front of that up about 45 in. from the floor then a super single that fits under the bunk. along the one wall we are going to build a bench seat that will double as a bed for the girls and it will be open for storage underneath. I will try to post photos as we go along.
