Hello from Texas

Postby seanpg13 » Wed Jul 27, 2011 9:32 pm

Hello this is Sean from Texas.
I am Interested in building a Weekender or a long weekender but I would like it to be 5+ feet wide. I also would like it to be able to support a canoe.

I live in North Texas, DFW and most of the nice camping areas are some distance away. Also AC would be really nice since it is 102 F today. I really enjoy camping but not when it is over 90.

I have a friend who welds cars so I will ask him to start the frame when I am Ready. I need to read more so I do not have too many questions.

Sean :)

Hi Sean,

Welcome!

There are a bunch of us in the DFW area. If you haven't already, you may want to swing by the South Central section to see local gatherings. The next one is in September at Lloyd Park on Joe Pool Lake (assuming the temperatures don't fry us.) Swing by and meet everyone and take a look at the theardrops and TTTs.

Take care,
Tom

Nope, plenty of nice camping not far from your doorstep. Mosey on down to the South Central group and find out all about it.

I'm really starting to like Eisenhower SP. It's easier to get to than Ray Roberts and quite a bit cheaper. It seems each SP can set their own fees for camping.

Oh, like the other, DO check out the South Central forum. Lots of teardroppers around DFW.
Holy cow, Rose is a teenager now! Done? Surely you jest. A teardrop is never "done".

If you haven't try Bonham, northeast of Dallas and a little southeast of Eisenhower. A great smaller park
