Hi and HELP!

Postby Socal Tom » Fri Mar 23, 2012 7:47 am

Hello Everyone,
I've been a lurker off and on for quite a while. Until recently I haven't had the activation energy to start a TD project, though I've longed to for a long time.
As of yesterday I became the owner for what I hope is a good start on a TD.

It was originally intended as a cargo trailer, so I have to undo/redo/adapt what I have to make it fit my purpose. What I'm out to make is basically the generic Benroy. I'm tool and skill challenged when it comes to wood working. I can cut a hole, but it won't be pretty :frightened: . So I'll need advice on how to make sure I do the right things to keep it looking good when I get done.

As for my current project, I've got a basic plan, but I would really appreciate it if some of you experienced builders can provide some good advice to help me get it right the first time and avoid any nasty pitfalls. I'm headed over to start a build thread. Just look for "Tomabago".
Cheers,
Tom

Just jump in and do it. I'm no woodworker of any kind, but have just finished renovating the interior of my classic 1948 all aluminum trailer with a wooden cabinet with doors for storage, electrical panel, etc.

My woodwork isn't pretty, but it's functional and it's good enough for me.

Hi, Tom:

I imagine you've done this already; but, if you haven't, go to the top of your screen and place your mouse on Design Resources. Then click on Generic Benroy Plans when the pull-down menu appears. For specific advice, in that same pull-down menu, click on SDTrippers2s' Index (spelled Indes.) If you still can't find an answer to your question, ask. People will usually answer within one hour to one day's time, depending on the question.

Best wishes on your build!
