Newbie from Va

Postby djoyner » Wed Sep 05, 2012 2:31 pm

Hello, I am DJ and I hail from the Commonwealth of Virginia. I have been thinking of building a TD for a few months now and have been reading many of the threads on this forum.

My first TD project will be a TD that is small and lightweight enough (foamie) to pull behind my motorcycle. This will primarily be a 'sleeper' for use on my cross-country road trips.

My second TD project will be a larger, better-equipped and I will tow it beind my Ford Ranger.

I look forward to learning lots more about the wonderful world of TD's.

lww (a member here) lives over in richmond. its nice to know of members that are close by. sometimes they stop over and lend a hand whether needed or not. i have had a group come over the last two years to help me out.

good luck on whatever you build and ask all you need to in the foamie section. someone will answer.

Thanks Larry. I'm in the eastern part of Henrico. I'm taking advantage of the gorgeous weather this weekend and working on my Tear.

Welcome to the Forum DJ
From your map in your Avitar picture, I take it you have not made it the the "Great Pacific Northwest"???
Maybe when you get your new Teardrop finished you can add it to your bucket list.
There is some beautiful country out here and plenty to see and do.
"Beautiful British Columbia" is also spectacular.....so bring your passport and plan to come up for a visit.

Vedette, thanks for the welcome. I plan to visit the PNW next year and yes, that was part of the reason for building the tear. I also must make it a point to travel to B.C.
