Hi all,
Got the fever after purchasing a small suv. I have a 21 ft trailor that I tow with my van to local events.
I needed something smaller to tow longer distance and with just me and the wife. Being from the Pacific NW, I like the looks of the cedar plank TD's. I will probably build one of those for myself or my son. I wanted to stretch the imagination and give some personality to my TD. (as im sure we all do). Thats when I came up with the seahawk profile.(see my album). I'm modeling it on sketchup and hope to start construction soon. Ya right. Like many of you, I have a hony do list a mile long. How to put this new project at the top of the list? any help with that gimme a shout.

Welcome Eddie. I kind of like your thinking. My concern would be the beak may drag when go in and out of driveways etc. How about a 5' high tear with the beak ending at the trailer base. This would also allow you to turn the Seahawk around facing forward if you want with the beak being a tongue box. It would be a little fancy woodworking but it would look cool! Good luck and enjoy your build!

Thanks for the replies. Yes that was my first hurdle, which way to face it. It would be nice to have the hawk facing the same direction of travel, and the way I have it laid out now seems to flow with the current convention of a TD layout. I'll take your suggestions and play with it on the sketchup.

Well I just took a hour before bed to throw this together.

Looks like it doable

The figure is about 5’6” bed is a 75” long just for scale. I did have to scale the SH logo in the
Vertical ( Y axis ) a bit to get more head room.

Nice work-up.
It givs me options to think about and reinforces some of my own ideas.

Hi WalkingDown/Eddie,

Welcome to the forum

'Love the great graphic design - But - I think you' may need to
modify it just a small bit. As shown, you'd lose the beak tip,
no matter where you place it, on a curb or 'higher' angle drive
approach/departure etc.. It just sticks down too far. Although it
is a major and very important detail in a very bold design you'll
probably need to refine the design to avoid that.

One way to do so would be to raise the height of the body enough
so that the beak point will be on/even or just above the bottom
body line. Just paint that extra area matt black, or such, so
it will recede, or whatever color you need for it to allow that
area to just be a background for the design graphic.

'Just wanted to mention it as I hate to see good work and effort
get wasted by something avoidable.
