Newbie in Missouri.

I have seen a few of the commercially built ones over the past few years but had NO IDEA how big of a deal this whole Teardrop thing is. :o I have been doing a lot of reading and looking at pictures over the past two or three months. These things are AWESOME!!! I love it! Going through some of the forms and the hall of fame has been very educational and entertaining. You guys and gals are SOOOOO creative!
You all have won me over. I have already started building one but fortunately I am not very far along. There is like a billion ideas here! I need to think all of this through.

My family has been camping for years. We had a used pop up and then bought a brand new 28ft travel trailer. This great economy of ours took away my job a couple years ago and in the process we lost the trailer. :( I am working again but at this point we were looking at tents. The good news is I have a couple of good trailer frames and some building skills. I see a teardrop in my future! :) To many smiley faces? LOL

Welcome to the forums Kevin

I know the feeling. I was replace with a “ Smart ATM “ so I need to find a new job my self.

There so many good ideal out there it is mind boggling. Take your time and make a list of you would like to have in your camper. Compare that with a list of things you used in your pop-up and tent camping.

I settled on a small used TD at first, until I get the time and knowledge to build a nicer one. I used this TD twice now, and never used the built in sink. It was really in the way. So I might not put a sink in my built one. Or at least make a sink that can be use as storage or dual purpose use.

Good luck in what you decide, and keep us informed on your progress. :)

That would be great! Is there a gathering date list for the K.A.M.O. group? I'll do a search too but any info you can point me to would be much appreciated. Thanks again. It's nice to see there are still a lot of friendly people out there. :)

Hi Kevin,

We had a slow year because of the hot weather and so far not much planned for next year. 3rd weekend in September we will be back at Crawford State Park in Kansas and I'm sure other gatherings will pop up. Most really don't get announced until the sites are available for reservations.

Keep an eye on the North Central forum in case a great weekend comes up. So campouts just happen spontaneously.

Welcome to the forum.
