We're Hooked

Postby sonorantears » Mon Nov 05, 2012 5:27 pm

Hello Everyone,

We are hooked and haven't even started. I stumbled on to this site a few days ago and can't stay off of it. I even got my wife on board so the biggest hurdle is done. My wife and I live in Arizona and enjoy the outdoors with our dogs when we get a chance. I research my projects to death and dive in when I am ready. So it will be a few months before I start building but I will be lurking around the site till then. If anybody lives in the Phoenix area and likes to show off thier work please let me know, I would love to see it for ideas. I look forward to a future of building and sharing.

Well Patrick as one who does the, have to know every thing about something, this is a very good place. look through the specific threads and also build threads. It is a lot easier and less expensive learning from others mistakes.

Patrick, welcome to the best trailer forum on the net. If you really want to see some teardrops, you surely know where the Buckskin campground is near Parker, on the Colo River. Well, on the end of this month, there will be a bunch of us camping there and you are invited to come and visit us. Walk-ins are always welcome, since all TDers are anxious to share tips about building or camping in their rigs.

This is a good gathering that you just don't want to miss, and it's really not that far from Phoenix. When you get there, look me up, I've got the teardrop with the wooden satelite dish on the roof, connected to the wooden flip-down, Sony plazma TV, (that doesn't do a damn thing). All teardropers a friendly folks, and who knows, you might even get invited to share a bite to eat. Check out the South West Section in the main index page of the forum for more info. Hey, I'm counting on you, so I'll see ya there, with bells on.
8) ;) :R Roly, the li'l ol' So Calif woody guy, still working on my bucket list.

And as Roly said the Buckskin SP just outside of Parker Az is Nov 29-Dec 2 2012 there will be many a great trailer there and make sure you get to meet and greet Roly, Bud and Eddie and all the great builders of these fine trailers. Do you get board with all the re-runs of WOODstock and find yourself sawing logs?

Louis c, Nope, it is just a home-made 8 incher. However, I was thinking on upgrading to a 60 inch flatscreen, but what's the use, I only get woody woodpecker and pinocheo videos and it probably wouldn 't fit in the galley anyway

Welcome Patrick
Yes, this is a great site.
Remeber, that even after all the research, you wil be changing things as you go. Once you get started new ideas will pop into your head while you are asleep.
Start as early as you can as it "IS" going to take you twice as long to build as you anticipate?
This is not a bad thing as the building is at least half the fun. Or at least I hope it is! As I have had a wonderful time building ours, but we have yet to use it.
WE are truly looking forward to the rest of the fun!!!!
Wish it was May 1st instead of November.
Good Luck with your build........and remember to ask questions here on the Forum, as there are a lot of ANSWERS!
