Hi everyone.
I'm not yet a Teardrop owner, but my wife and I are looking at buying or building a teardrop this winter.
I live just outside of Victoria on Vancouver Island (British Columbia). I'm originally from Newfoundland and have lived in Alberta and Nova Scotia.
I have a few Coleman camp items such as gas lanterns, 4 stoves including a Canadian 5A 3-burner currently undergoing a restoration. I am also a fan of cast iron cooking.
Both my wife and I toyed with the idea of buying a camper van at one point. I even contemplated selling my Chevy Tracker SUV so I could buy a 3/4 ton pickup and truck camper.
Common sense finally prevailed. We've decided that it makes no sense to spend a ton of money on a pickup (and the fuel for it) when a teardrop camper can be pulled by my Tracker. It's hard to give up 30 MPG like I get out of the Tracker.
I'm hoping to get some ideas about teardrop trailer building or which one would be a smart buy if I don't build. Considering I have a small garage I will likely buy.
Can't wait to learn from everyone.
