Newbie here from north central Alabama

I am in the early stages of planning a TD build and during my research I ran across this site. It looks like it is going to help me out a ton. I've been thinking about a build for a couple of years now but there always seems to be something else coming up and the build gets put off. I was talking with my wife about building one the other day and she is full on board now so it looks like it is finally going to happen.

I saw a car from Iowa on the interstate yesterday while on my way home from work that was pulling a TD. They got off on my exit so I followed them into the gas station and talked to them for a few min while they got gas and walked the dog. This was my first time to actually see a TD in person and I think it's going to be exactly what my wife and I need. OK, enough rambling for now. I'm looking forward to exploring the forum more and learning from all of you.

It's a little bit of a drive, but if you can, we'd love to have y'all join us at the LGC gathering in October. It's at Lake Bisteneau State Park southeast of Shreveport Louisianna. No teardrop is needed.

and when you get your teardrop finished, and some strange person follows you to the gas station and wants
to talk to you about your TD, ( and it will happen ) just remember to tell them about the good folks in the
forums. Also encourage them to get out and build their own little dream.

Welcome to the Forum.
Enjoy your build, but remember to allow twice as much time for it than you think it will take.
And DON'T PROCRASTINATE ...... get at it as soon as you can.
I said "Oh I have lots of time.... no problemo" and missed last years camping season completely.
Now I am sitting here looking out at the snow with a TD ready to go in the garage, wishing it was May 1st.!!!

Welcome, Hope to get started on my TD next week but Mine will be a very slow build in the mean time I hope to make several gatherings. and get to meet some of the most wonderful people around. Hope to see you at some gatherings too!!

Welcome neighbor from Ga and can't wait to see what your planning, I know there is a gathering planned over in AL in March with the Dixie chpater of Tearjerkers over at one of the state parks on a lake, sorry doped up on cough medicine and cant remember the name of it. Its open to all and camp in anything and join the gathering fun, hoe to see ya around a camp fire sometime same goes to you too Mary!

Thanks for the heads up about the gathering in March. I'll have to see what I can find out about it and try and drop by.
