Hello from Utah!

Postby jdennis27 » Sat Feb 23, 2013 11:29 am

Hi everyone, my name is Josh and I'm currently living in Utah. I don't have a teardrop yet, but my wife and I are hoping to get one in the not too distant future. She grew up with one and has sold me on how awesome they are. I've been lurking and getting some great ideas for awhile, and I figured it was to to introduce myself.

Welcome to the forum! This is a good place for questions and ideas as you build. Hope to see you down the road someday.

Josh,

Welcome to the fun. Teardrops are a great way to go camping and a great way to explore the natural wonders of the region.
Except maybe today. Looking outside it's really snowing heavy on the south side of the Salt Lake valley.
Good thing it's the weekend and most folks can stay of the roads.

Hi, I'm pretty new to the forum myself. There is so much to absorb here that I can't read fast enough. Good luck on your build.

At least this nasty weather is giving us some time inside to plan.

Thanks for the welcomes! I was enjoying the fresh powder on the slopes yesterday, but I sure was glad for the all wheel drive on my way home.

Welcome to the forums Josh

Another great thing about Teardrops campers. They are like Camping gear storage sheds on wheels. As
long as your gear is not wet, it can stay packed and ready to go next trip.

Welcome to the forum. I am up here in southern Idaho. A colony of Utah.

I usually get down to the northwest corner of Utah each year for a night or two of camping out in the desert. Keep an eye on the Southwest forum there might be some gathering or something get going for this summer. I am also going to try and make the Element 11 burn at Seabase by Grantsville in July ( a regional Burning Man type of thing ). If you ever thought about Burning Man and want to get a taste of what it is that is a good start.

Hello! :)

I'm a relative newby too, just picked up my teardrop last Wed., and though I'm sending you welcome greetings from Wisconsin (my home state), I wanted to say "Hello" from a former Utah resident. I lived in Cedar City, then St. George for 10 years. Got to travel through the entire state. Varied and lovely scenery everywhere. Getting built up in those two towns though, I google-earthed the "out of town" areas where I rented homes, they sure aren't "out of town" now

Congrats one the TD. Sounds like you got out of Saint George in time. I was in that area Feb 2012. Ugh. Ceder City is not to bad yet.

Welcome aboard, Josh, you have come to the right place, as we are the most helpful, friendliest, bunch you will ever meet. There is a load of info on this site, and I suggest you become familiar with all of the various areas of interest to you. Do check out the Hall of Fame, where you will find pics and build info on dozens of trailers of all shapes and sizes. The first step, is get that trailer frame! Once you have that, there is no turning back. You have probably discovered, that folks ask questions and always get answers from all over the US, if not the world. Take pics as you go along, you will never get another chance, and one day, you too will be part of the Hall of Fame. Good luck on your build, and when you get it on the road, swing on by my place in So Calif and we'll swap TD lies over a cup of coffee, (it's always on)
