Hello From Flint Michigan

Postby FastEddie2 » Wed Feb 27, 2013 10:48 pm

Hey everyone. My names Eddie. I'm a architectural cad operator from Flint Michigan
Been lurking here for a while and now that my project is just starting i figured i would introduce myself. I have been wanting to build a teardrop trailer for a few years, and after taking some heat from my fiance about not going on vacations, I'm moving forward with it. I just picked up a harbor freight trailer the other weekend and once i can get her car out of the garage, ill start assembly. Not really sure on the complete design yet but its going to be simple, and most likely convertible. My tow vehicle for the time being will be my Colorado pickup but the end goal is putting a hitch on my t-bucket hot-rod. The hot-rod is in a current state of rebuild so it might be a little while until the funds go back to that. Once i start working on the teardrop and documenting it ill start a build thread. Being a architectural cad operator, I am going to try to measure everything and make complete drawings for it. Hope to learn a lot from everyone.

Greetings from just south of the border.
I would suggest you might want to come to some of the Tearjerker gatherings http://www.tearjerkers.net to see what others have done, lots of creativity in this community and it is always of value looking at what others have done.

Nice Bucket.

Welcome to the forums.

There is a new section for sketchup design. I believe someone modeled a HF trailer already and you can DL it.
I use Wings3d for my cad stuff. Making models RC planes. I‘m slowly teaching myself Catia so I can laser cut RC
parts. GL on the tear and even better luck on the fiance. Ha hahaha

Thanks for the greetings and all of the information.
I found a harbor freight trailer that i used for the outline of my design. At work I use autocad but i do a lot of 3d modeling on sketchup. Once I have some time to get working on this, im going to try to draw EVERYTHING. Well that's my hope anyways. Ill make sure to post what I document.
