Another Newbie from West Tn.

:) Hello All,
I have searched long and hard for a site like this one that I could use to gain more information and knowledge on how to build my own teardrop camper. I have seen only a handful of this style camper on the roads and highways from Memphis to Knoxville and Nashville to Chattanooga. They seem to be more popular on the west coast, but gaining popularity all over. Over the past 25 years we have slowly graduated from tent to popup, then larger campers until the kids grew up and went out on their own. Now, with just me and the little woman, we are looking to down-size, and these look soooo 8) and fun  that we decided we may try to build us a 2nd starter home just to see if we still have it in us...lol. So as soon as I can find local craftsmen to furnish the basics, I'll be ready to start the build. At one time I was an RC airplane modeler and I have several designs in mind  that I intend to build out first in balsm just to get an idea of what I want. If all goes well...I should be able to start the build by fall and be ready next season :). I look forward to posting pic's when my model is done and during the build. Peace out!!!

Welcome to the forums. Coolest thing about a Teardrop, It’s a mine storage space for your camping gear. As long as you only keep in your camping equipment in it. All you do is restock the cooler, run you a quick checklist of essentials gear, and go. Oh clean sheets for the bed helps.

I still fly RC planes and plan to take my bigger one ( when finished ) to glider events in Taxes.

Welcome. You will find a lot of great information on here. Before I started my build I looked at almost every build journal on the first nine pages in that section. I got a lot of ideas and changed my mind on some of the things I thought I wanted to do. Good luck.

What city in TN? I live in Millington,20 miles north of Memphis. I'd be glad to let you look at my teardrop and see if that's what you want to build. I have a 5x8 and it plenty big enough for a couple. Welcome to the forum!
