The Big Trip

Thanks to all that answered my questions and welcomed me to the forum :)
Now that I have decided on a design, its time to start planning the trip. We plan to take the northern rout to the coast , down the coast and back across the bottom to the coast, up the coast and then back to OHIO. I myself have seen many sites ,but my better half hasn't. So I would like as much input as possible on things to se, places to stay, can't miss destinations, we are going to set aside four months or so to do this so we aren't in a hurry. :D We hope to spend at lest four to five nights a week in the td, and the rest in other lodging. And if anyone has some ides as far as a long trip things to be sure to bring over just a weekend camp over please chime in.
I'm sure there has been many folks that have done this before, so tell us the good, the bad, and the ugly.
This is the big bucket list trip of all trips for us and we don't to leave any stone unturned  Thanks Kokomoslow
