Hi there, My wife and I are joining this forum and we are from Saskatchewan, Canada. We've been lurking around on the forum for a few months reading posts and getting ideas about how to build a teardrop and what we'd like to see in ours. We really loved the Campinn Raindrop but that sort of trailer just isn't in the budget. We have young kids so we really wanted a trailer that we could sleep at least 2 adults and 2 kids in and the Raindrop fit perfectly. So we started thinking about making our own however we've also realized that we just don't have the time for a complete new build right now with the kids and work and all. After a few weeks of intense looking we found a sale add for home built teardrop that was a project that a fellow started but lost interest and time. So we snatched it up because it was a generous 5x10 and most of the work has been already done for us. So now we are starting from where the former owner/builder left off and we'll customize the shell to our own needs.
We're going to build in a set of short bunk beds that convert to a sofa in the front of the teardrop and keep a full 60x80in queen bed as well. The kitchen on the trailer is roughed in but we will probably take it all out and start over back there since much of what was put in doesn't exactly suit our needs.
