Hello from Southern California

Postby Marie » Tue Nov 19, 2013 3:28 pm

Hello,
I'm Marie & have been a member for awhile now gathering information about teardrops. After deciding we were done tent camping & not even interested in an RV I started search the web for ideas on how to camp off the ground. Found pictures of teardrops that lead to this website & a wealth of information that lead us to become part of the teardrop lifestyle.

My husband Tom & I decided not to build our own but to purchase a teardrop. Our first was a used home build that we purchased off Craigslist. Enjoyed it for several years & it helped us decided what we liked & didn't like as we used it. Sold it to a young couple this past spring & got a new Cozy Cruiser in Springfield OR. Picked it up in Aug & took a week traveling home down the coast. We love it. Thanks to a TnTTT member that allowed us to come & take a look at his Cozy Cruiser before purchasing ours. I posted a picture in our gallery of our first night out at Cape Blanco State Park, OR.

I like to see were others travel with their teardrops & get trip ideas from their posts. We also love to look at ideas on how others set up camp & what they cook when out in their teardrops. So thank you to all that share on this forum.

Thanks for the link covering your trip to CA, you were able to really pack a lot into the time you had.
You have a great teardrop & it was nice to see how you had it set up at all the many different places you stayed.
Let your wife know that she did a great job on the blog. It's always helpful to get others perspective on traveling long distances, it's one of the things we are still working out.
We will be going to Yellowstone next fall so it was nice seeing how you spent your time there.
Again thanks for sharing.

Hi Marie, I'm sure you folks plan to attend the Super-Duper teardrop gathering at Lake Perris on March 27 to the 30th. It's probably only a few miles from where you live. I'll be there with bells on, and look forward to meeting you. I live in Wildomar, and if you are ever down this way where the I-15 and I-215 meet, swing on by and we'll talk teardrops. The coffee is always on, and I'll give you a tour of my latest project tear.

Yes, Marie
Welcome to the Forum.
You will get a lot off information here, and meet some great people like Roly.
Maybe he can convince you to come north to Lake Shasta on May 1st or maybe to Canada for the a Canadian gathering.

Thanks for the warm welcome Roly, Brian & Sandi.
We are definitely going to try & make at least one gathering in 2014 & Lake Parris & Lake Shasta both look like a lot of fun.
Now Canada would be fun too but a lot more planning...but some day.

That is the beauty of TD's. They make travel affordable and allow you to expand you horizons.
We managed 9 states this past summer and actually made it to California twice with "Miss Piggy" .
We hope to host a Gathering here in B.C. in 2014.
Date has not been set yet. But we hope to tie it together with another major gathering so as to turn it into a worthwhile Road Trip!

Hi Marie
Look in your album.
Your TD looks great!
How does your table attach to your TD.
Sandi wants to know if it is tippy or wobbly with the single leg.
We have the same lag and ours is.

Thanks Brian, we really like the Cozy Cruiser.
The side tables drop down & then latch in to the grove on the sides of the trailer & as for the single table leg we have not had any trouble with it.
At one campsite the ground was very uneven and we had to use a bit of our kindling to get it level.
We are planning a trip to Death Valley over the holidays and looking forward to learning more of how we like to set things up with our new teardrop.
I continue to get very good & practical ideas from this forum.
