Not new to site but my recent trip reignited my build idea

Postby crazycuda » Tue Nov 19, 2013 6:28 pm

I just got back from a 4 day hunting trip with some of my wife's uncles out to some state land here in Michigan. Completely off the grid camping about 2 hours from home. I was told I had a spot in one camper that ended up with 5 of us in it. Needles to say this 20-30 foot camper was cramped when it came to sleeping and I felt I had no space to call my own. This trip sparked the fire for me to get back on this site and start looking again about building myself a teardrop for deer camp. It could be a decent sized one since I am going to be pulling it with a v8 SUV. I like the idea of an aluminum exterior skin but I'm unsure if I will go that route. I'm looking for a small galley and storage for my firearms and hunting gear. Any plans stick out in you mind let me know

welcome back. I have been asked to build a hunting foamie similar to GPW's camo painted one . The guy wants to use it as a portable hunting blind too, just a thought.

 Small cargo trailer conversion?

See the CARGO TRAILER CONVERSION forum here.

:pictures: Lots of photos.

A cargo conversion might be something to look at. I'm thinking a basic tear with a few features aimed at its intended use might be the best route. For deer camp I'm mainly looking for a warm dry place to sleep with room for some gear and maybe even a small camping grill and stuff of that sorts. Guess I should start drawing up some plans

That is a nice little trailer Perm.

If you are looking for for an easy build try the weekenders style. No rounded front , no bending wood, easy angles, still TD size.
