Hi from England

Postby Transit80 » Sat Dec 14, 2013 1:26 pm

Hi there, my names Chris and I live in a place called Solihull in the middle of England. Been looking at this forum for a few weeks now and I thought I would join in and build
a Teardrop for myself. Ive bought myself a shell of a 2 berth caravan and have started to strip it to start my build, Ive kept the insulated floor as it is strong enough .

Started like this,

After a day of work it now looks like this,

I am hoping to tow it behind my 1975 Saab 96 but will see when its finished.
Photos are not great as they were taken on my phone.

Good place to start, I have a 72 Sonett I am restoring, But I sure would not want to try and tow anything with it!

Hi Chris there are few Brits on here as its a fantastic resource. There is a UK forum which is useful hour UK suppliers and legal issues etc .

Good luck with your build, at least you've made a start!

Welcome Chris, please drop by the foamie section and see if any ideas can help you loose weight! you are so lucky to start with such a neat trailer. We will be watching for your build thread.

Hi
I'm about to start painting my TD over Chirstmas and I've fallen in a few holes, most I've have on youtube if you're interested.
If you're looking for hinges, latches etc Alfred Jaegger has a wide selection. I was there on Friday picking up my 2nd galley hinge, I cut the first one too short... :x

Good luck

Did you use the continuous plastic one?

If so I am building under 4 feet wide and would be interested in buying your mistake if its long enough and useable?
