I've been lurking on this site for a long time and decided to finally introduce myself. This is my first time building a teardrop but not new to woodwork. I am a shop foreman at a cabinet shop that fabricates custom cabinets for residential, commercial and tow boats. My wife and I with our two boys have been tent campers for years and decided to step up to a more comfortable way of camping. My 9 year old is on a competitive swim team who travels to about twelve meets a year. Staying in Hotels are costing to much. We are planning on staying in the trailer at swim meets to save on cost. My plans are going to be based on the Moby1 trailer. I have welded up a 5 x 10 frame using 2x2 steel tubing. My walls will be 5 ft tall with aluminum covering all surfaces. The inside of trailer will have single fold down bunks on the forward and aft of trailer for the boys which will double as backs for bench seating with a fold down table. My wife and I will sleep on floor and will fold up mattress if we have to eat inside when weather gets to bad. I'm planning on putting my shelving for t.v. and A/C on the side wall opposite of my one entry door. Thanks for all the great ideas and construction techniques.
