Newb from NH and MO

Postby Tobit » Tue Feb 11, 2014 7:06 pm

Hey folks, my name is JT and I currently live in NH where I was born and raised. However, I also own 5 acres down in the Missouri Ozarks I will soon be moving to. I'd really like to build a tiny trailer to live out of while I build a permanent cabin on the land.

I currently have an old Bantam T3C trailer I could use the frame to build something small. However, the frame is quite small at roughly 38" x 74". A friend of mine has expressed an interest in it so I may sell it to him and use a NT 5x8 frame and upgrade it a bit with a Dexter axle and larger wheels/tires. I'd really like to build a small Vardo style camper. The private road easement leading to my property can be a bit rough at times so I'd definitely need to do some mild off-road upgrades. I have some very steep hills to climb as well so I will probably get a Lock'n Roll hitch setup as well.

Here are some photos of my Bantam and the road:

Here is my tow rig, I just bought it on Saturday. 2011 F-150 XLT 5.0L off-road with 7200# GVWR package, 36G fuel tank, and tow package. Wiring is all setup for EBC, I just need to take it to the dealer and have them program it into the computer. I need some better sneakers for it before I do anything.

The very first sunrise I experienced on my land. You'll have to excuse the composting toilet under the tarp. I tried to get it out of frame better but I failed. :?

What end of the lake are you at? We used to stay across the lake from some retired friends every summer up by Ha Ha Tonka.
