Hello

Hi there. I have been interested in small trailers for a long time and stumbled onto this website. Wow so many different plans to choose from. Would love to build one of these teardrop's but have to sort out all the plans and decide what I want. I do know I want to build on a 5 x 8 frame.

I took a look at the Manitoba Chapter page but there seems to be no activity since 2008.

Welcome to the Forum from a fellow Canuck.
We have a newly formed Tear Jerker Chapter out here in Beautiful British Columbia and are hosting a Gathering here July 24 - 27th.
A drive thru the Rockies is always a memorable experience. ;)

Hi Brian
Love your setup. I was hoping the Manitoba Chapter would be doing something but it looks to be inactive for some time. I would love to get to a meet and get some ideas and see if one of these trailers is a good fit.

I actually dove all the way out to Fernie, BC to pickup my 13' Boler that I am doing a custom rebuild to for the last year. I have always been interested in teardrops and am wondering if it would work for weekend getaways.

Hi glenpinpat.

I did have a look at the Manitoba Chapter but their last meet looks to be in 2011 and the few posts in 2012 and 2013 seem to have not gotten any response. Looks to me like that Chapter is DEAD from lack of activity. Which is too bad as Manitoba has lots of great camping areas. I guess I will invite anyone with a teardrop in the Manitoba area or driving distance to the 5th Annual Manitoba Fiberglass and Vintage Camper Rally at St Malo Provincial Park the 3rd weekend of August each year.

I lived in Shilo, MB for 6 years and still consider Manitoba home! I spent many camping trips(fishing) in the Duck mountain area. My parents owned a cottage in Riding mountain for years and another great park for us was Turtle Mountain. My wife and I spent our honey moon in Manitoba!

Hi Rick
Yes they are great for weekend get aways and much much more!
Sandi and I towed Miss Piggy over 12,000 miles last year and slept in her 44 times.
Hope to do the same in 2014. We plan to cross Washington State 8 to 10 times this year and have her in California twice, attending two separate Gatherings.
I have tent camped all my life and for a very short period I had a Motorhome. but always dreamed of having a teardrop.
As I was never a trailer towing kind of guy. :R
But, after towing and camping with our new teardrop, I am soooo in love with the Teardrop people we have met. And the Teardrop lifestyle and ease of set up, I am inspired to build a second one.
We leave for California to the Dam Gathering next week and have looked forward to this event all winter. Not so much to get away from the cold and start camping, but to see the many friends we met last year in our first year out with our teardrop.
If you like camping, travelling, and meeting "Lot" of people....teardrop camping is the way to go!
Always draws a crowd!
