I spent all of 2013 parting out a perfectly good Camaro SS,

and putting the drive train in a little Miata.

I've spent most of 2014 so far building a fender flares and other body work on it

so that in a few months it will look more llke this than a Miata and for sure not cute.

I also have a son

who is deployed just outside Yemen right now

and high on our bucket list is to take the above V8 Miata on an extended road trip.

Add to the mix I have a 5x8 shorty (4'3" tall inside) utilty trailer

that needs to hold a couple bunks, a camp kitchen and gear for a month on the road. And that is why I am here!
I know I need brakes on the trailer with such a short wheel base car and I already have a portable camp kitchen I built. Key to the build is weight because the Miata only weighs 2400 lbs so I would like to keep the trailer under 1200 lbs if I can. With 450 hp towing is not the problem, it's keeping things straight on a downhill grade I am worried about. Other than that I am a blank slate open to ideas and suggestions. I'll be looking through your projects for ideas and posting my progress on the trailer build as I go.
Thanks for reading my first post!
