Greetings from Washington State

Postby Comfy Camper » Wed Aug 27, 2014 10:46 pm

I have been wanting to build a teardrop for years...I have been lurking on and off for a while now. I am in a place now, and with a person now, where the Teardrop Trailer project is going to happen - eventually.

Having a great time checking out the builds - love a well-documented build-log.

I am planning on building on a 6' X 10' trailer, because I plan on putting a King Size Mattress in, as well as a bench seat for at least one dog and a cat.

Is anyone building on a trailer that big?

Hi Doug, Welcome!

I am also in Washington State and have been building a trailer also 6x10'. Rather than a king bed I will have a queen bed inside because my wheels are not completely outside the trailer walls. My build is going in spurts so I won't be using it until spring at this pace. :(

Thanks for the Welcome.

I am in Washougal, WA - That is about 20 miles East of Vancouver-South (Vancouver, WA) - 30 minutes North of Portland, OR.

Right now, ALL of my Teardrop 'Construction' is in the Dream/Plan stage, no sawdust for a while.

I am liking this trailer for my Teardrop though - http://www.performancespecialty.com/uti ... ilers.html

I like the Tandem Axle with brakes, don't think my Trailer is going to be anywhere near heavy enough to need dual axle, but it is going to be big (6'10" wide by 10' long) and I don't think I would have a trailer without brakes.

Upgrades are easy when you are dreaming :D
