Waving from the Willamette Valley

Postby Rivulet » Wed Sep 03, 2014 10:20 pm

Hello all! I'm in the central Willamette Valley of Oregon, and am getting ready to pull the trigger on my first teardrop! All that we need to do now is figure out the financing and such. I need a bunk, so I'm going with a custom build - it's hard to find used stripped-down tears with bunks (we don't want a sink or a stove or a TV or anything)! I'm hoping to learn a whole bunch from y'all, as I'm coming into this with a lot of enthusiasm but not very much knowledge. :)

Daughter graduated from OSU-both kids lived in Corvallis for several years. We stay at the Corvallis KOA often when visiting and enjoy breakfast at New Morning and Broken Yolk when we are there. Have fun teardropping.

Hi Rivulet, Great picture- You're so pretty. Welcome and I hope we cross paths soon in our TD's. You can use it before it's finished but weatherproof is essential for Oregon. I wish it would rain in Norcal.
Enjoy, Chris

Ha, Chris, thanks! I think I need moisturizer. :D

We will definitely have it finished before we use it. We're planning on taking it for its maiden voyage down to Texas, where it probably won't be wet but most likely will by the time I pick it up in Portland!

Welcome aboard Mega,
Good luck with your trailer and we hope you the best on your build 8) 8)
Some of the simplest things seem to take the most brain power :?
Bunks are still a problem for our build --- we have a CT conversion and over a year later, I am still using cots  :hammer:
I believe that I have come to a conclusion as to what the Az Desert Rat will get to sleep on and will post the progress in my gallery when the miracle happens
Happy Camping & Building,
John (JC)

Welcome to the Forum.
As for your build?
You are wise to not have a built in sink (first thing to go!) will save a lot of headaches.
As for a TV......we just slept in our TD for the 100th night and have yet to watch ours once.
And most TD's have portable or removable stoves.
Just food for thought.
