Hello from Nor Cal

Postby Crew Dawg Dave » Wed Sep 24, 2014 1:22 am

Hello, I'm Dave and I am excited to find this site. I have been lurking for a couple of weeks and learning a lot! I am looking to start my build in the next 2 month God will'n & the crick don't rise. I saw my first Teardrop 2 years ago outside Lake Tahoe CA and liked what I saw. My wife & I moved back to CA in Jan this year and I have been looking for a camper to buy. I decided to build one after working with my brother in law building a deck and really enjoyed the experience. I'm a jack of all trades, master of none so we will see how things go.

Welcome Dave, you'll never be short of advice on this site. I see we have the same qualifications as "Master of None" :rofl2: :laughter:

You are giving away your age with the "Dave's not here". What part of nor-cal are you in?
Take care and good luck with the build my friend......

How Redneck....

Im outside of Sac up I-80 (Roseville/Rocklin) My wife is from this area and has family here. We are hoping we are here for a long time. I'm retired AF and the moving around is getting old... Time to set down roots. Not crazy about CA (all the "CAisms" that are a "bit" much) I really like how beautiful the state is. The spousal unit and I did some camping this year and the sleeping on the ground was a bit rougher than I remember when I was young and with bears coming for visits requires a upgrade on how we are doing things...

I am doing a lot with my brothers kids so I am going to have to take in some considerations on how they will fit into the planning. A traditional TD may not work the best for me so I think I am going with more along the lines of a square back trailer and trying to incorporate a folding bunk bed somehow.... Lots of reading to do.

Here is some ideas from Jeff of TrailTop came up with....
