There doesn't seem to be very many of us from Saskatchewan! Looking forward to bringing my finished build to car shows around town and hopefully giving others the itch to build one!

I think I am pretty well sold of a sandwich construction of 1/8" baltic birch, 3/4" underlay plywood, 1/8" miscellanious "pretty" plywood. I like the cabin like feel, so I would like to try and keep a wood type of wall inside, and a hollowed out 3/4" with rigid foam insulation. (and less weight). My real block is my exterior choice. I love the woody feel, and I think I have the craftsmanship - but I am having some trouble finding any sort of high quality clear epoxy. If I can at all avoid shipping this in, I will. I also have a choice of 60" aluminum, but then its not a woody

Yes, our dollar is in the tank right now, but the price difference is worth it.

Brian & Sandi - I think you nailed it. The more I search on the forum, the longer my ebay list grows! As many have said on here, "you will remember the quality far longer than the price" I am trying my best to stick to this, but I do have a bit of a budget I need to stick too. My main purchased items will doors and hurricane hinge, I just love the full window/screen look, and knowing they will stand up for a while without leaking. Also I don't trust my abilities enough to make one successfully.

If the plan is to use the baltic birch - 5x5 sheets - I will extend to 5x10. I figure if I am going to have a seam anyway, why not take advantage of the 10ft long sheets. And as you said BC Toys, it will be worth it to have the extra space.

AC Ours is a hacked Frigidaire 5,000 BTU How I did that is in a post.
Heat is either an Espar diesel heater using the same ports, a West Marine 120AC heater or a automotive heater core using hot water from our 6gal water heater.
Fans are a pair of Antec three speed 80mm computer case fans (lower power consumption)
Shadow Catcher - I didn't even think about putting on brakes. This week I just purchased a set of 2000# torsion axles, that will be mounted to a 2x2 steel frame. My hope was to overbuild the trailer so I can unbolt the tear and use the trailer for other plans if I need to haul something some day.
How do you like the Filon? Was it hard to work with, is it heavier than Aluminum? I may have access to some locally, it will be costly though, but it may be worth it.

I do have some specifics I want in all designs, such as AC, Heat, Double bed, and light weight ( I drive a VW Rabbit). My original plan was to make a 5x10, but lately I have been thinking of making it a 5x8. The biggest challenge I have is the limited amount of supplies I can obtain. Living in Saskatchewan, Canada, a lot of added costs come from shipping items in (Duty, Tax, and our poor Canadian dollar) so creativity is a must!
